About Schola Antiquae Vocis:

Schola Antiquae Vocis, a female choir brings its concert program of Gregorian Chant, Renaissance, and
Traditional Sacred music to the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia audiences. The music is
performed "a cappella" in Latin, old Italian, German, French, and Spanish to perpetuate these ancient
musical traditions.

Schola Antiquae Vocis includes women from Skagit, Whatcom, and Snohomish counties and from every
walk of life. Nurses, dental hygienists, espresso bean roasters, caregivers, counselors, teachers and self
employed.  The one thing we share in common is our love for this ancient music and the resulting bond
we have formed while learning to sing this music.  We are extremely fortunate to have Renato living in
our small community.  Without him we could not sing this music and know each other by becoming a
wonderful family of friends. With Renato's musical leadership, this small group of women from the
Northwest corner of the U.S. adds a new dimension to ancient music traditionally restricted to male
voices. Through study and striving for musical excellence we wish to share the beauty and meditative
qualities of this music, which is known to promote spiritual healing and inner peace.

Since the founding of this non-profit organization in 1998, the group has given over 80 local concerts in
the Puget Sound area, British Columbia (Vancouver & Victoria), participated as a choir guest in 2006 to
the annual Bach Festival at Mount Angel Abbey in Oregon and participated in two concert tours of
Italy in 2003 & 2007.  In 2003 the choir sang at the Vatican during the Vespers along with the Choir of
St. Peter's Basilica (Capella Giulia) under the direction of Mons. Pablo Colino, participated in an
invitational Festival of Sacred Music in Lucca and giving concerts in Verona, Florence, Pisa, and finally
in Rome.

In 2007 the choir sang in Positano (Amalfi Coast) at the beautiful Church of Santa Maria Assunta facing
the Mediterranean sea, Assisi at the Basilica of San Francesco, in Perugia at the Church of San Pietro,
Norcia at the Cathedral of San Benedetto, in Rocchetta al Volturno (Isernia) at San Vincenzo Abbey, at
the Vatican, and finally in Rome at the beautiful and historic Church of St. Ignatius.
